Project Vision Hawai`i travels to rural communities using our mobile vehicles to provide screenings to individuals.

-US citizens and some aliens who are admitted for permanent residency may qualify. -Households must meet specific eligibility requirements and provide proof of their statements about household circumstances. -Most able-bodied adult applicants must meet certain work requirements. -All household members applying must provide a social security number or apply for one. -See https://humanservices.hawaii.gov/bessd/snap/ for SNAP gross income standards and other eligibility criteria. (SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) Federal Changes to SNAP benefits take effect October 1, 2025. The Hawaiʻi Department of Human Services (DHS) is preparing families across the state for upcoming changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), effective October 1, 2025. Because of adjustments made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to the Thrifty Food Plan — the federal formula used to determine benefit levels nationwide — households in Hawaiʻi will see a reduction in their monthly SNAP benefit.
