Al-Anon is open to anyone whose life has been affected by someone else's drinking. Friends and families of alcoholics. Alateen members must be between the ages 12 and 18 and have a relative or friend with a drinking problem.

(Alanon Family Group Kauai, Alateen Kauai) Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have been deeply affected by someone else’s drinking. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Members, who come from all walks of life, meet to share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Alateen is a recovery program for teenagers whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking.
