Eligibility

To qualify for Hospice Care, the patient’s physician must have verified their prognosis to be measured in months and the patient elects no further curative treatment. Anyone can refer a patient to the Integrated Care Program, which provides specialized medical and emotional support for patients living with a serious but treatable illness.

Fees

Hospice care is fully covered by most health insurance programs, including Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance providers. Co-payment may be required for room and board at residential hospice care homes, hospitals, or nursing home facilities.

Description

(Hospice Hawaii) Navian Hawaii is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers who meet the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families in the comfort of their own homes as well as in other settings like its Kailua Home, nursing homes and other facilities. The non-profit organization offers Integrated Care for those with serious but treatable illnesses, and Hospice Care for those near their journey’s end, providing assistance with pain management and symptom control. Navian Hawaii provides caregiver support, grief counseling, and complementary therapies including art, aroma, massage, healing touch, and reiki. Navian Hawaii has offices on Oahu, Molokai and Lanai and accepts referrals 24 hours, 7 days a week.
