(Mothers Milk) Hawaii Mothers' Milk, Inc. (HMMI) is a comprehensive breastfeeding resource center, for both families and health professionals in the State of Hawaii. HMMI provides services to new mothers statewide through our telephone warmline, individualized breastfeeding counseling, rentals and sales of hospital grade and/or home purchase breast pumps and supplies. Seeking volunteers to assist with clerical and other nonpatient duties. Donations accepted. This program offers lactation counseling and breastfeeding support, breast pump rentals, and breast pump sales.

Provides free consultation and sliding scale legal representation to parents and guardians of special needs children.

Provides cancer education and services for cancer patients and their families. Distributes information on prevention through healthy lifestyles to reduce cancer risk. Promotes early detection to increase survival rates. Loans equipment and books. Provides limited patient transportation for non-elective off-island medical treatment. Offers support programs, navigation, and appearance-related gift items for women in treatment.

The Salvation Army Lihue Corps provides a place and opportunity for religious expression by those who choose the Salvation Army. Provides character building programs for all ages. Assistance is provided to those who are in need of food and clothing. Provides hospital visits, care home visit, and shut-in visitation to the institutionalized. Mobile showers are available every Tuesday from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. Back to school supplies program is available mid-July. Holiday programs available as well. Worship services Sunday 10:30 am - 12:15 pm.

(Family Visitation Center - Oahu) Family Visitation Centers provide a safe, neutral setting for children to visit with their non-custodial parents or transition from one parent to the other. After a divorce or separation, family visitation services may be arranged by agreement of both parents and by court order.

(Church on the Beach Mobile - Koa'e Makana Apartments) Kauai Bible Church helps Hawaii Foodbank Kauai with this branch for food and hygiene product distribution. Church on the Beach Mobile distributes clothes, toiletries, and personal/grooming supplies to the houseless or those in need.

Provides professional and public education about cancer. Provides services for cancer patients and their families. Distributes information on cancer's "seven warning signs" and emphasizes prevention through healthy lifestyles to reduce cancer risk. Promotes early detection to increase survival rates through regular physical examinations. Loans equipment (hospital beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.). Through volunteers, provides transportation to medical treatment. Also offers support group meetings and stop smoking programs, cab vouchers.

Administers a family practice, outpatient medical clinic. For assistance with medicaid applications or Hawaii Health Connector is through the Main Clinic in Lihue, call (808)245-1500.

Increases public awareness of the measures that can be taken to protect homes, businesses and property from the threat of fire. Includes information on faulty wiring and other electrical hazards, kitchen fires, smoking risks, child-related fire safety, flammable materials storage, brush clearance, fire retardant building materials and ground cover and other similar topics. Provides fire education and code enforcement. Issues special fireworks and public firework display permit. Also issues tent permits, portable extinguishers and systems permits, flammable finish permits, public assembly permits, and tank permits. Fireworks permits may be obtained from all Satellite City Halls for these holidays: New Year’s, Chinese New Year, and Independence Day (Fourth of July). For fireworks permits other than on the holidays listed, go to the Honolulu Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau. Fireworks permits will not be issued at any fire station.

Provides health care coordination to target populations. Participates with communities to problem-solve health issues. Provides health education in adult and child health, chronic diseases, communicable disease and prevention. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. Provides health services in public schools, consultation services to private schools, day care, and residential care homes.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Mana`olana, Komohana, Lawehana and Kome Transitional housing sites provides safe and decent shelters with case management and assistance towards permanent housing by addressing obstacles which prevent homeless persons from obtaining and retaining permanent housing through a coordinated effort of health, housing, financial and social services.

Promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children and their parents. Skills are developed around five main components: personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water sports/game, and rescue.

Boxing classes for keiki, teens and adults of all levels.

(Keauhou Shelter) Keauhou ("a new beginning") provides private rooms for homeless or at-risk individuals and couples with shared bathrooms per floor. Services include housing placement assistance, job training, assistance obtaining documents (State ID, Social Security Card, etc.), mail services. Keauhou Shelter is located at 1020 Isenberg Street, Honolulu, HI 96826.

Prevents and protects persons and property against crime. Enforces county ordinances and state laws. Investigates missing persons, juvenile offenses and criminal activity. Coordinates traffic safety. Registers and issues firearm permits. Administers and promotes community education and prevention programs such as DARE, Law and Justice Awareness, Crimestoppers, Neighborhood Watch. Responds to after-hour child welfare (abuse) calls.

Operates a public (fixed route) bus service and a paratransit (door-to-door) bus service on Kauai. All vehicles are lift-equipped to accommodate persons with mobility aids. Paratransit Service is available for qualified individuals.

Counseling services, (individual, family); group services, and limited financial assistance. With partners, through it's community building efforts, QLCC works toward the development of: healthy children, strong positive family attachment, stable home environment and caring communities.

Provides support, consultation, assessment, and referrals to all youth who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

(Ho'olanani) Provides overnight shelter includes shower, meal, bed, clothing, referral to social services.

(MRTP, Maui Relief TANF Program) The Maui Relief Program is a program that provides benefits to eligible families with dependent children, or individuals, who were directly impacted by the wildfires. This program is separate from the ongoing TANF cash assistance benefit and has a different application process, eligibility criteria and requirements. The program benefits are not intended to meet a family’s recurring needs and will not extend beyond 4 months. Funding for people without dependent children is very limited. We encourage you to apply as soon as you can to be considered for assistance. When applying, please take into consideration that the current queue time is approximately two months. Survivors are strongly encouraged to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance prior to applying for support through the Maui Relief TANF Program. DHS wants to ensure families maximize available disaster relief efforts. FEMA housing has been extended through February 2027. Please use this time to secure the required documents and submit an application for MRP assistance a few months before you leave FEMA. The Program will help families with household incomes that do not exceed 350% of the 2023 Hawaii Federal Poverty Level, or individuals, with a: -One-time deposit to secure long-term housing (your family unit has a signed lease/rental agreement for 12 months or more. The security deposit must not be paid, as we cannot reimburse.) -Long-term housing payments up to 4 months (your family unit has a lease/rental agreement or is paying a mortgage) -Short-term housing payments up to 4 months (your family unit has a lease/rental agreement for less than 12 months or is temporarily staying at a hotel, vacation rental, etc.) -One-time down payment to purchase a four-wheeled personal automotive vehicle designed for passenger transportation for up to $6,000 (your family unit will sign a pending bill of sale/buyer's order before your 10-day pending deadline. The down payment must not be paid, as we cannot reimburse.) -Automobile payments up to 4 months, up to $1,000 each month (your family unit has a lease/auto loan agreement. If purchasing through a private seller, we can only assist with the loan in addition to the down payment if the total vehicle price is $10,000 or less.) -One-time utility deposit to connect utility sources (your family unit established accounts with utility companies) -Utility payments up to 4 months (your family has accounts with utility companies) -One-time clothing allowance for adults. -Every 12 months, clothing allowance for children (between ages Birth - 17 years old). -Every 12 months, allowance for school supplies for children between ages 5 years old - 17 years old. -One-time replacement of a refrigerator unit, actual cost up to $1,000   -One-time replacement of a range unit, actual cost up to $1,000 -One-time replacement of a washing machine unit, dryer unit, or both, actual cost up to $1,000 or up to $1,750 for replacement of washer and dryer   -One-time replacement of a microwave or toaster oven, or both, actual cost up to $200.   Note: Information on immigration status is only requested to determine the source of funds to which the benefits will be paid.

(Maui Economic Opportunity Youth Bank, MEO Youth Bank) The MEO YOUTH SERVICES offers an After-School/Out of School Positive Youth Development Programming service. The programming activities allows youths in the 6th grade through high school age (up to 18 years old) to acquire the attitudes, competencies, values, and social skills that is necessary to carry them forward to successful adulthood. MEO Youth Services also assists the youths/young adults with skills to avoid choices and behaviors that will limit their future potential. The program focuses on Life & Career Skills development through culturally based, outdoor experiential activities, and meaningful Service Learning opportunities. MEO YOUTH SERVICES provides in-school prevention programs.

Collects and distributes child support funds in all new divorce and paternity cases, newly modified orders, as well as those cases handled in the past. Legally establishes the identity of the father of children born out of wedlock. Obtains court and administrative orders for child support which are enforceable against parents who have a duty to provide support. Locates parents who are not complying with existing child support orders and enforces payment through wage assignment, income tax refund intercept and other legal means. Ensures medical coverage for children. The Statewide Disbursement Branch (SDB) processes all child support payments.
