(SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management service to improve housing stability by providing supportive services to eligible Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Supportive Services include housing search assistance, landlord mediation, and temporary financial assistance. SSVF also provides information and referrals to assist participants with obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits, which may include health care services, personal financial planning services, and legal services.

Family Support Unit does paternity establishment for the Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA). Assists in establishment of paternity and child support for children born out of wedlock. Paternity and support may also be established for children born during a marriage but whose natural father is not the husband. Paternity may be established in certain circumstances when the absent parent lives out of state.

Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides a confidential facility available around the clock for survivors and their children in crisis. Offers weekly individual or group counseling focused on teaching independent living skills for youth aged 12 to 25. Maintains a training apartments from young men aged 17.5 to 19 who are in transition from foster care, group homes, shelters or institutions and also a home for young women transitioning out of foster care to independent living (training apartment participants are expected to have jobs and pay for rent and food). Also a home for pregnant and parenting teens.

Includes information on faulty wiring and other electrical hazards, kitchen fires, smoking risks, child-related fire safety, flammable materials storage, brush clearance, fire retardant building materials and ground cover and other similar topics. Provides fire education and code enforcement. Issues special fireworks and public firework display permit. Also issues tent permits, portable extinguishers and systems permits, flammable finish permits, public assembly permits, and tank permits. Fireworks permits may be obtained from all Satellite City Halls for these holidays: New Year’s, Chinese New Year, and Independence Day (Fourth of July). For fireworks permits other than on the holidays listed, go to the Honolulu Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau. Fireworks permits will not be issued at any fire station.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose, open pavilion building and a field. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. Water expense may include sewer service fees. Payments are made directly to landlords, mortgage lenders, or utility providers. (PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

Food distribution for March 21, 2026 is canceled. Nothing will be rescheduled for the month of March 2026. New Hope Kapolei provides a food pantry on the 3rd Saturday of the month. Please bring a rolling cart or large shopping bag. Food is on a first come, first served basis and the pantry may run out of food before the closing time. Please call for an appointment for emergency food on Thursday 10:30 am - 12:30 pm the weeks the food pantry is not open on Saturday. Supplies are limited and appointments are required.
