The Hana Like Home Visitor Program works with families to provide supportive coaching to teach strategies that enhance the parent or caregiver’s skills to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children ages birth to 3 years old. Home visitors also work with prenatal mothers to support a wide range of maternal-child health. Families are referred by the Early Identification (EID) unit of Catholic Charities Hawaii and can be self-referred. Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (HSCADV) is a coalition of organizations that serve survivors of domestic violence and their families. We provide education and training on domestic violence to service providers, community partners, and businesses, and develop resource for advocates and the community. We engage in public policy to improve survivor safety. We do not provide domestic violence services directly, but make referrals to appropriate agencies.

Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

Provides a continuum of substance abuse treatment services including: residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient treatment.

The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) provides food to the needy on the island making food and products available to agency partner distributions sites. KIFB serves homeless, elderly, children and those experiencing temporary emergencies. KIFB also has a vocational rehabilitation program, operates Keiki Cafe and a Backpack Program as well as provides nutrition education assistance. KIFB makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai.

Makaha Community Center is partnering with Waianae Assembly of God for the distribution of food, clothing, furniture, appliances, and household items. We also support local Department of Education school incentive programs in the Nanakuli-Waianae complex to help promote academics and attendance.

(Food Pantry, St Joseph Catholic Church Food Pantry) Saint Joseph Catholic Church provides a food pantry for those in need. Each household receives one bag of groceries and one bag of fresh vegetables and/or frozen items. Households with 4 or more members receives two bags of groceries and two bags of fresh vegetables and/or frozen items. Clients need to register with the Food Pantry to qualify when they receive their food items for the first time. Food donations of canned fruits, meats, soup, beans, vegetables, cereal, and juice are welcome. Any food donations can be left in the food donation bin at the entrance of the church.

(Emergency Food Pantry) Eleele Baptist Church distributes bags of food to those that are in need on a first come, first served basis. You must call first and leave a clear message with a name and a call back phone number for emergency food. Speak slowly and clearly with little to no background noise when leaving your message and call back phone number. Emergency food pick up time and location will be discussed during the return call.

Provides educational programs and resource materials in leadership development, volunteer management, public policy education and how to train others. Statewide network of volunteers. Staffed through local Cooperative Extension Services offices.

Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores. We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

(US VETS Wai'anae, Waianae Civic Center - Pai'olu Kai'aulu - Veterans' Shelter) Provides shelter for homeless families and individuals.

Counseling services, (individual, family); group services, and limited financial assistance. With partners, through it's community building efforts, QLCC works toward the development of: healthy children, strong positive family attachment, stable home environment and caring communities.

Fresh food and essential household items like toilet paper, laundry soap and other items when they are available.

Transitional shelter provides Housing First Case Management and focuses on connecting clients to mainstream resources, increasing income, life and tenancy skills, and reaching the ultimate goal of Permanent Housing.

(St Pius X Church Outreach) Saint Pius X Church Outreach provides canned, packaged food as available. Used clothing and other household items, grooming supplies, laundry detergent provided if they are available. The Department of Health Early Intervention Section (EIS) provides early intervention services to infants and toddlers below three years of age with special needs (developmentally delayed or biological risk). Biological risk means having a diagnosis/condition with a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay. Specialists support parents in helping their child develop in the following areas: COMMUNICATION: talking | understanding COGNITIVE: paying attention | solving problems PHYSICAL: sitting | walking | picking up small object SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL: playing with others | having confidence ADAPTIVE: eating | dressing self Family centered care principles guide providers in supporting the child and family. Services are provided within the child's daily routines and activities. A primary service provider and coaching model is used to teach parents and/or primary care givers strategies to support the child's development.

(CPS) The Child Welfare Services Section operates a 24-hour child abuse and neglect reporting line. Child Protective Services (CPS) receives all reports of child abuse or neglect, provides case consultation and assessment, and provides crisis intervention on behalf of children in need of immediate protection via police.
