Dreams help remind children in crisis that they are special and loved. Dream Imua, formerly A Keiki’s Dream, grants child-directed dreams to children 4-16 years old in crisis of any nature, such as abuse, neglect, homelessness or a major medical issues. This child-directed approach not only offers a reprieve from suffering, but validates the child’s self-worth, sending positive messages of support and encouragement, reminding the child what it is to have hope. This important program began in 1990 and became part of Imua Family Services in 2015. Over the last 30 years, the program has filled nearly 1,500 dreams from turning little girls into princesses and little boys into superheroes. The program offers children a chance to escape their difficult lives through helicopter rides, zip-lining, music lessons, horseback riding and more. Dream Imua relies on community support and involvement to help make these dreams a reality for those in need.

Kapaa Missionary Church provides food in grocery boxes. The church also provides emergency food.

(Food Pantry) Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides a food pantry with essential staples for individuals and families at the Family Center in Kuhio Park Terrace. Intake is valid for one year.

The Maui Dance Council (MDC) was founded in 1978 and holds the mission to: Enliven the community and the classroom by inspiring, cultivating and supporting the artist in everyone. MDC cultivates the performing and creative arts in Maui County through: the Chance To Dance public school movement arts education program, professional development training for classroom teachers, community classes and Master workshops, and by advocating for the arts locally and nationally. Chance To Dance is a Standards based arts education program designed to stimulate the students’ imagination and original thinking through dance and music. By integrating dance and music with classroom curriculum, Chance To Dance helps children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while self-expression and creativity are encouraged and fostered at a critical age.

(Hui Ho'omalu) Hui Ho'omalu's General Licensing Branch trains and conducts assessments Statewide for prospective general licensed resource families. General Licensed refers to those families that are willing to foster any unrelated child. Resource homes for older children, teens, and children with special needs are in critical need. We are a local nonprofit agency that is part of a national network of organizations and individuals committed to improving Hawaii's maternal, child and family health through collaborative efforts in public education, advocacy and partner development. We offer a MothersCare Hotline, an online resource directory, and a health text messaging resource called Text4Baby. A coalition that promotes a better system of care for pregnant and parenting women and their families. Activities include helping pregnant women get prenatal care and health insurance, producing perinatal education and information, and conducting trainings to Hawaii's perinatal providers. Information and referral services for before, during and after pregnancy.

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Provides a place and opportunity for religious expression by those who choose the Salvation Army. Provides character building programs for all ages: Guards and Sunbeams, Adventure Corps (Youth), Home League (Women), Men's Fellowship. Provides assistance to those who are in need of food and clothing. Provides hospital, care home, and shut-in visitation to the institutionalized.

(HCHP, CBCM-RS, Community Based Case Management- Recovery Services, Ohana Project Services, Shelter Plus Care) Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP) is offered at our Kaaahi street clinic and Kohou street clinic. The Kaaahi street clinic is at the Institute for Human Services (IHS) Homeless Shelter for Women and Families. Primary Care health services are provided to single women and families who are guests of the IHS Homeless Shelter, single men, and community members: Including adult medicine, chronic disease management, immunizations and flu shots, infant and well-child check ups, physical examinations, psychiatric counseling and medication management for adults, and women’s health.

The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has made the elimination of homelessness among veterans a top priority.
