Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration. Also accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing.

(LEI) LEI is a HTA-sponsored workforce development project created by ClimbHI to inspire Hawai’i’s youth to select careers in the Hawai’i visitor industry by providing them with the necessary means to achieve success. From the student’s perspective, LEI represents an opportunity for Leadership, Exploration, and Inspiration, and from the hospitality industry’s perspective, LEI provides an opportunity to Lead, Expose, and Inspire Hawai’i’s youth. The program began in 2011 with 300 Hawai’i high school students spending a day learning about the hospitality industry and the value of graduating from high school and going on to pursue a post-secondary education. During the course of the day’s program, the students meet, learn, and experience job opportunities that the hospitality industry can provide. Students also receive advice on filling out job/college applications, resumes, personal finance, and support resources. (Aloha Diaper Pantry) The Aloha Diaper Bank supports newborns up to 3 years old who are facing poverty or family crises due to job loss or personal circumstances. Working in collaboration with various local agencies that serve low-income, homeless, and families in crisis, we provide essential diapers and wipes. Families are encouraged to register with one of the partner agencies to receive ongoing support and access other valuable services during challenging times. Additionally, the Aloha Diaper Bank offers a one-time emergency assistance package, including 75 diapers and 2 packs of baby wipes, to address immediate needs. The Aloha Diaper Bank Maui Pantry and the Aloha Diaper Bank Kauai Pantry works with partner agencies to distribute diapers to families in need. (Family Peace Center - Oahu, FPC) Oahu Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction. The program emphasizes partnership, equality, and respect among families. The center provides support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals, and legal system advocacy. (Youth Employment and Success Hawaii) YES Hawaii serves youth ages 14-26. The program provides peer support and outreach services. The Program is youth driven and designed to engage foster youth in peer mentoring and meaningful and supportive events and activities. Services include outreach and support, peer mentoring, events and activities, leadership and skill-building, and social media and other electronic communication training.

Provides opportunities for youth socialization, recreation, education and cultural awareness in a safe, drug free positive environment. Offers art classes, cultural appreciation program, performing arts, ethnic cooking, outdoor sports, community service, computer, Internet, and homework assistance.

Through public-private partnerships, Malama Maui Nui stretches government dollars further by gaining the in-kind support of local businesses and volunteers to malama aina in Maui Nui. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. (MST, Multisystemic) This program is a unique, goal-oriented model that provides comprehensive treatment that serves chronic, violent delinquents ages 12 years old to 18 years old. It is a family focused, in-home and community-based treatment program that has been the focus of several major research studies, and demonstrated clinical and cost effectiveness for youth with complex emotional, social and academic needs Multisystemic (MST) is a time-limited, intensive family and community based treatment that addresses serious anti-social behavior in juvenile offenders ages 12 years old - 18 years old. Program addresses the factors associated with delinquency across the youth’s settings (e.g. family, peers, school, neighborhood) and uses the strengths of each system to foster positive change. At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.
