The Salvation Army Lihue Corps provides a place and opportunity for religious expression by those who choose the Salvation Army. Provides character building programs for all ages. Assistance is provided to those who are in need of food and clothing. Provides hospital visits, care home visit, and shut-in visitation to the institutionalized. Mobile showers are available every Tuesday from 9:30 am - 1:00 pm. Back to school supplies program is available mid-July. Holiday programs available as well. (FSSEAP) The program provides case management, educational advancement support for parents with children.

Through public-private partnerships, Malama Maui Nui stretches government dollars further by gaining the in-kind support of local businesses and volunteers to malama aina in Maui Nui. Projects include marine debris cleanups, coral reef outreach & education, invasive plant control, native outplanting, illegal dumpsite clearing, litter pickups, graffiti cleanup, recycling, community paint exchange, and environmental education. Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available in Kihei at our Laie Wetland Restoration Project, in Kahului at Kanaha Beach Park, and at various community.

Kahuku was the site of the first Rainbow School and has been operating continuously since 1972. We serve approximately 65 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet state licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. (SWCC Free store) The free store is a community resource that offers clothing, household items, and other essentials at no cost. Each registered participant can shop once a month. Monthly schedule is subject to change. Call to confirm.

Medicab provides a door to door transportation service for people who need assistance or need to be escorted, usually to a doctor or medical facility. Drivers are trained how to communicate and assist elderly and disabled people. The driver does not lift, carry or push anyone. Drivers do sign out customers from the hospital and assist (guide by hand) people in and out of the vehicle COVID-19 patients are asked to sit at the back seat with their masks on. The driver drives with the windows down for full ventilation.
