(Healthy Start Early Identification, Healthy Start Early Identification, Healthy Start Home Visiting) The purpose of the Healthy Start program is to support and strengthen families. The program service provides voluntary screening, assessment, and referrals to Pregnant Women, Expectant Fathers, and Caregivers of Newborns residing on the island of Kauai who meet the program eligibility criteria. Healthy Start provides home visiting services to eligible families. Program staff partner with parents to address individual needs, set and support goals, build a home environment around the baby and connects parents with helpful services and information that supports learning, safety, and developmental stimulation. The services are free, voluntary, and confidential.

Community-based Pregnancy Services provides counseling and supportive services to women experiencing a crisis due to an unplanned pregnancy and their families, with special attention to pregnant teens. Service assists clients to explore all their viable options concerning their pregnancy and to make informed decisions and plans for themselves and their child. Pregnancy Services provides community outreach in order to reach the women and teens in need of services, and assists them in accessing services, advocacy, information and other resources to meet their needs (such as WIC, Medicaid, AFDC.) Birth options counseling is provided if requested as well as planning and assistance through the process for the individual, partner and family.

The Early Identification Program (EID) supports families in learning about child development, family well-being, and community resources. EID is a resource and referral service that can link families to helpful community resources.
We are a local nonprofit agency that is part of a national network of organizations and individuals committed to improving Hawaii's maternal, child and family health through collaborative efforts in public education, advocacy and partner development. We offer a MothersCare Hotline, an online resource directory, and a health text messaging resource called Text4Baby. A coalition that promotes a better system of care for pregnant and parenting women and their families. Activities include helping pregnant women get prenatal care and health insurance, producing perinatal education and information, and conducting trainings to Hawaii's perinatal providers. Information and referral services for before, during and after pregnancy.
