Youth Outreach Program | Hale Kipa Inc. - Youth Outreach
(YO) Since 1989, Youth Outreach (YO!) has provided medical and social services to homeless youth. Beyond basic services, YO! offers encouragement and the opportunity to create positive change, which most homeless youth don't find anywhere else. Services are provided free of charge. Community support is vital to help sustain the program. GED training available, as well as employment counseling.
Services are provided at the YO! drop-in center and by outreach teams, who travel in Waikiki offering assistance and information to potential YO! clients. YO! is jointly operated by Waikiki Health and Hale Kipa, Inc.

Wheeler - Operation Hero | Armed Services YMCA Wheeler
Operation Hero is an afterschool program that targets military children who have been identified by teachers, counselors, or parents as exhibiting low self-esteem, or who have difficulty adjusting, both academically and sociall t the school environment. Oftentimes, these difficulties can be attributed to frequent moves and family disruption due to deployments. The curriculum is designed to help children cope with the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and assist them in developing a positive self-image while improving communication skills. This program promotes social responsibility through team-building activities and targets children.

(Positive Youth Development, OYS) Services youth ages 10 years old to 21 years old who are engaging in or at-risk of engaging in behaviors such as drug use, delinquency, and/or unprotected sex which lead to teen pregnancy. The program focuses on youth who are in crisis, have no basic necessities or no
support systems and are approaching adulthood. We address areas of social well-being, knowledge, reasoning and creativity,
vocational preparation, and social responsibility. Program activities address the following areas: youth leadership; educational
development; community service and service learning; mentoring and intergenerational support; performing/visual arts and humanities; sports, fitness and health; self awareness and interpersonal dynamics; as well as basic money management/budgeting and job readiness.

Offers child care to members while using facilities. Organizes free family fun night. Operates after school programs at the following schools: Haiku, Kalihi Kai, Kihei, Pomaikai, and Puu Kukui. Offers summer day camp at Maui Family YMCA and Kihei school; kindergarten through 5th graders. Conducts classes in aerobics, cardiac therapy, gym, karate, personal fitness, swimming, water aerobics, weight training, yoga etc. Offers American Red Cross Community Water Safety (CWS) course (not for the public).
