Tenacious Rooted Youth Center - Kalihi | Kuhio Park Terrace

(TRY, TRY Center, Community Teen Program - KPT - Middle and High School) Parents And Children Together's Community Tenacious Rooted Youth (TRY) Centers in Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi public housing provides comprehensive development programs for youth who live in and around the housing complexes. After school programs promote the development of youth, families, and communities by providing educational activities and experiences including STEM projects, sports and recreation, community service, skill building, and support services. Programs support the growth and development of our youth by teaching leadership and life skills and encouraging positive experiences as alternatives to drugs and gangs. TRY Center activities are free and open to family residents of public housing complexes in the respective areas. Opens at 1:30 pm on Wednesdays during the school year. Extended hours offered during summer and school intersessions. Intake form is good for 1 year.

KVIBE | Charles Judd Community Health Center

Youth drop into the space and are given the opportunity to earn a bike by learning how to fix and maintain a bike in addition to volunteering to help maintain the flow of the shop. Each year there are 400 donated bikes that are refurbished by youth and about 4000 bikes are repaired though 9000 youth service hours.
