(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. A Cup of Cold Water is an outreach care van ministry of the Episcopal Churches on Maui and Community Friends delivering basic needs of water, nutrition, clothing and comfort to the neediest of Maui's people. Weekly runs are made to the homeless in Central, West and South Maui on days and times when they are not serviced by others. A Cup of Cold Water Care is an all volunteer outreach and all donations go directly to meeting the basic needs (plus a lot of comfort) of the homeless clients served. A Cup of Cold Water does not help with housing.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (Transitional Family Homes) Provides a temporary out-of-home placement living environment for youths, ages 12 years old to 22 years old, that require additional resources to accommodate their emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Together, the staff and foster families provide youths with a system of support, counseling and skill building services. This service offers youth the opportunity to live with a trained transitional family who provides them with support and guidance. Services are offered to each youth based on their individual needs. Youths are provided with individual counseling and family counseling with the ultimate goal of reunification with their family.

(Friends of the Childrens Justice Center - East Hawaii) Helps child victims of abuse ages birth-18 years to gain self-esteem and develop positive self-worth, by filling requests for items and services not available from any other source.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Advertiser and Star-Bulletin the week before registration week.

(Koolauloa Health Center) Provides health screening such as blood pressure screening, blood tests, breast examinations, chest x-rays, drug/alcohol testing, hepatitis testing, pregnancy testing, psychological testing, sexually transmitted disease screening, etc. Other services include flu shots, information and referral, immunizations, well baby care, health education and more. The Community Teen Program provides Out-of-school Time services (OST) for youth ages 5-18 who live in and around the public housing complex Kuhio Park Terrace in Kalihi. This programs promote the development of healthy youth with an abundance of positive experiences for youth including educational, recreational, skill building, social emotional learning, community building and support services. Opens at 1:30pm on Wednesdays during the school year. Extended hours offered during summer and school intersessions. Intake form is good for 1 year.

(Queens Referral Line, Queen Emma Clinics, Queen Emma Pediatric Clinic, Queen Emma Womens Health Center, Queens Cancer Center) Provides referrals to private physicians (may select specialty, insurance accepted, languages spoken, and more). Provides information about Queen's Medical Center programs and registers people in health education classes and CPR certification courses.

(Hawaii Relief Program) Catholic Charities Hawaii has been contracted to administer the Hawaii Relief Program. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). -One-time automobile down payment -Up to 4 months of automobile payments Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources.
