Transitional housing for HIV+ individuals who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Participants may stay between 3 and 24 months; there is on-site curricula, one-on-one counseling, and group activities. Participants pay 30% of income towards rent. Not a hospice or treatment facility, but ensures that participants are connected to needed primary medical care and support services.

(Hawaii Relief Program) Catholic Charities Hawaii has been contracted to administer the Hawaii Relief Program. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). -One-time automobile down payment -Up to 4 months of automobile payments Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. Water expense may include sewer service fees. Payments are made directly to landlords, mortgage lenders, or utility providers. Provides free and confidential individual tutorial services by volunteers. Offers tutoring in basic skills such as reading, writing and math. Assists client in preparing for various testing including GED. Helps with resume preparation.

Provides an array of family skill building, child abuse and neglect prevention services within the Kalihi. Both Centers offer information and referral. Both Family Centers focus on parents, school and community involvement to work together to improve academic achievement for children. The Center also offers opportunities to prevent homelessness, promote literacy and English language skills, and build employment skills through volunteer opportunities. Families and individuals may use the Computer Technology Centers to access their email and internet, type or print documents. Provides a year around schedule of activities promoting physical, mental and spiritual welfare. Maintains a multi-purpose exercise room, weight room, cardiovascular room, racquetball/handball courts, locker rooms, showers and 25-yard heated pool. KAMP (Kids At-Risk Mentoring Program) Hawaii focuses on disadvantaged, special needs and at-risk youth in our communities. Program reaches cooperation, communication, decision making, leadership and teamwork skills through hands on activities.

Salvation Army Kona's Ohana Keiki Preschool is a year-round program for toilet trained children 3 years old - 5 years old. Please call the main number to set up an interview and tour.

The participants from 33 program sites receive a day filled with activities and excitement with a positive message on staying “Drug Free”. Participants learn the important values in self-esteem, nature lessons, social enhancement skills, utilizing creativity, teamwork and the importance of Staying Drug Free. Topics also include anti-gang violence and anti-bullying.

(Salt Lake Park, Salt Lake Gym) Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, games and sports, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

LDAH provides mentoring, technical assistance and workshop training in special education to parents/families of children with disabilities or suspected disabilities. In some cases, we will provide advocacy support for parents when information about their child at the school level becomes more complicated.

(Mobile Food Distribution - Kahului) Feed My Sheep provides food boxes to those in need at across from 45 West Kamehameha Avenue. This is across the street from Salvation Army Kahului.
