(PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Mana`olana, Komohana, Lawehana and Kome Transitional housing sites provides safe and decent shelters with case management and assistance towards permanent housing by addressing obstacles which prevent homeless persons from obtaining and retaining permanent housing through a coordinated effort of health, housing, financial and social services.

Ohana Makamae offers Domestic Violence Intervention through our Batterer's Intervention Program (BIP).  This service is for individuals who are perpetrators of domestic violence.  Our aim is to help clients achieve and maintain healthy lifestyles that promote growth, balance and wellness; and to provide a safe place where they can gain understanding and knowledge into their behaviors.  Through our  Batterer's Intervention Program our clients can meet their obligations to the courts and become empowered to make right choices.Our BIP program utilizes the “Alternate Behavior Choices” (ABC) curriculum; a research-based domestic violence curriculum by John Hamel, PhD, LCSW. The Alternate Behavior Choices curriculum is appropriate for both voluntary and court-mandated individuals, and exceeds the legal requirements for batterer intervention programs in Hawaii.

(Hiilei Developmental Screening Program) -Hi'ilei Development Screening Program - a free resource for children birth to 5 years old. The Hi`ilei program provides developmental screens and information for families. -Development - children grow and develop throughout their life. Early skills include smiling for the first time, waving “bye bye”, and taking a first step. As they grow, children develop more skills as they play, learn, speak, socialize, and move. -Developmental Screening - a developmental screen is a simple set of questions about what a child can do. It helps families find out if their child is developing like other children of similar age.

(Youth Technology Education) We offer several programs through the year for kids to learn about new technologies through a place-based lens.

The participants from 33 program sites receive a day filled with activities and excitement with a positive message on staying “Drug Free”. Participants learn the important values in self-esteem, nature lessons, social enhancement skills, utilizing creativity, teamwork and the importance of Staying Drug Free. Topics also include anti-gang violence and anti-bullying.

Comfort Malama teddy bears are provided to hospitals and Honolulu Department fire trucks. Layettes (Baby clothing) are provided for new mothers in need at area hospitals, as indicated by hospital personnel. Donations of personal care products to Waikiki Youth Outreach and household items to Hale Kipa youth, aging out of foster care.

(Pregnancy Problem Center) The Pearson Place Pregnancy Resource Center provides support to women and men faced with difficult pregnancy decisions. Free pregnancy tests, referrals for free ultrasounds, information about pregnancy options, material resources, agency referrals and ongoing practical support provided.

Kahului Office: Case management (IDs, referrals, placement, etc.) laundry and showers for clients with appointments. CARE-A-VAN – Food, clothes, first aid and hygiene supplies,and basic case management.

(Perinatal Addiction Treatment of Hawaii) PATH Clinic's focus is assisting pregnant and parenting women with a history of substance use disorders. Services include obstetrics/gynecology, primary medical care, behavioral health, tobacco treatment, insurance navigation, and other support. PATH Clinic's “Childbirth Education Classes” aims to achieve better health outcomes for both mother and child and more capable parenting. Classes are held three times each month 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm.

Assists in the location and recovery of missing children. Connected to 49 mainland state clearinghouses as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Traces children and their abductors through connection with these databases and other public records as well as coordination with the efforts of the FBI and police departments of all states. Child Protective Services, Interpol, the U.S. Department of State and countries who are signatories to the Hague Convention. The police should always be notified first in the event that a parent suspects a child has been abducted. Accepts volunteers to assist with basic administrative assistance, special events and graphic designing.

(LITFP SSI) The City and County of Honolulu Department of Community Services' Low Income Transit Fare Program (LITFP) provides a discounted transit fare for income qualifying individuals. For persons receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) no application necessary. Bring the following documents to the Transit Pass Office at the Kalihi Transit Center: -Supplemental Security Income Benefit Verification Letter from the Social Security Administration. -Official, valid photo identification (ID) such as a Passport, Driver's License, Driver's Permit, State ID, Birth Certificate for individuals 17 years of age or younger.

(CSFP) The CSFP works to improve the health of low income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Participants must complete an application, be at least 60 years of age, reside on Oahu and have an income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Once qualified, senior will receive a monthly food box consisting of UHT milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter or beans, cheese, canned meat/poultry or fish and canned fruits and vegetables. HomeAid's Kauhale Management Division provides secure, shared housing at Kipuola Kauahale, light case management, job readiness support, and opportunities for education and community engagement primarily for single individuals.  Additional support for mental health resources and counseling referrals, transportation assistance for work or school, and health and wellness programs for residents may be available. Residents have their own "sleeping pod" but share communal space (toilet, shower, kitchen, computer lab, public areas, etc.).  Residents are required to attend weekly or monthly community meetings, help with shared chores to maintain the common areas, follow site policies for safety, treat others with kindness and respect, and stay engaged with job training, education, or personal development activities.

Our Honolulu site was opened in 1996 and is located on the 1st floor of the Prince Kuhio Federal Building. Rainbow School Honolulu has an Infant/Toddler program which is licensed for 15 infants and toddlers. Our Preschool program is licensed for 75 children ages 2-5 years old. Rainbow School, Inc. in Agreement with the US General Services Administration, provides childcare services to Federal employees who are given priority and the general public. We are licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. (ATV, Alternatives to Violence) Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. Offers a full spectrum of services to women, men, and children in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence.

The Respite Care services qualified Navy families. PATCH links eligible families with trained respite providers to provide in-home respite for families of children with special needs.

(Hele-On Ka Hoʻokele) Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council's (HCEOC) Transportation Program offers Hawaii Island residents who are elderly, low-income, or disabled access to essential sites such as medical facilities, nutrition sites, shopping centers, banks, post offices, government buildings, and places of employment. Services are based on availability, service areas and road conditions.

Administers Children with Special Health Needs Branch, Maternal and Child Health Branch, and School Health Services Branch and Women, Infants and Children Services Branch.
