Provides fire education and code enforcement. Issues special fireworks and public firework display permit. Also issues tent permits, portable extinguishers and systems permits, flammable finish permits, public assembly permits, and tank permits. Fireworks permits may be obtained from all Satellite City Halls for these holidays: New Year’s, Chinese New Year, and Independence Day (Fourth of July). For fireworks permits other than on the holidays listed, go to the Honolulu Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau. Fireworks permits will not be issued at any fire station.

(HCHP, CBCM-RS, Community Based Case Management- Recovery Services, Ohana Project Services, Shelter Plus Care) Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP) is offered at our Kaaahi street clinic and Kohou street clinic. The Kaaahi street clinic is at the Institute for Human Services (IHS) Homeless Shelter for Women and Families. Primary Care health services are provided to single women and families who are guests of the IHS Homeless Shelter, single men, and community members: Including adult medicine, chronic disease management, immunizations and flu shots, infant and well-child check ups, physical examinations, psychiatric counseling and medication management for adults, and women’s health.

Provides after school program for Kindergarten through sixth grade students in public elementary schools who are without adult supervision after school. Program includes homework, recreation supervision, special classes and activities.

(Hale Na`au Pono, SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach, Waianae Coast Community Mental Health Center - Hale Naau Pono - SNAP Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Hale Naau Pono SNAP outreach program assists you in-person or over the phone in completing and submitting an application or a renewal form to a Department of Human Services Processing Center. In addition, the Outreach workers help recipeints to maintain their benefits and provide follow up (in most situations) on case status if needed.

Provides care for youth in a therapeutic family home with highly trained, Master's level supervised, carefully supported Professional Parents. Youth develop their strengths and skills, cope with trauma, and work toward their behavioral health goals. Youth and their bio-family develop individualized treatment goals within a treatment team to achieve healthy functioning toward reunification or self-sufficiency.

Provides prenatal classes in Lamaze training, basic and beyond the basics infant care, breastfeeding and working & expectant grandparents.

(Childrens Advocacy Center of West Hawaii) Provides a safe, neutral place for child abuse investigations by trained interviewers who are specialists in child abuse and neglect. In order to minimize the number of interviews, proceedings can be videotaped and/or audiotaped. Provides training for professionals in interviewing children in order to provide a neutral, professional investigation. Coordinates civil and criminal court actions. Coordinates the activities of all agencies involved with the child.

Assists adoptees in search for family members. Maintains computer bank registry of adoptees and natural parents and other birth kin. Advocates for rights of adoptees. Parents And Children Together (PACT) offers safe, compassionate, and confidential support in three counties for youth and families coping with serious behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. Our evidence-based therapeutic models focus on family networks and relationships, school or job performance, peer connections and relationships, and community networks of support. All services are provided free of charge with referrals. Evenings and weekends by appointment.

(HDB) Provides diapers, wipes, and other basic essentials for low-income families of young children birth to 5 years old.

Provides general family medical care including treatment for illnesses and minor injuries. Offers physical exams, family planning services including birth control information. Routine dental care, call for details.

Kokua Support Services provides Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, and After Care Treatment for clients who require this level of care.

Private Lutheran school includes grades PK-8 for boys and girls.

Emergency food bags provided by appointment. Referrals to other agencies for assistance given as well.

(Hawaii Baptist Academy) Hawaii Baptist Academy's (HBA) elementary program serves more than 400 students from junior kindergarten through sixth grade in Nuuanu. The expanded curriculum meets the individual needs of each student through hands-on learning and enrichment activities which include: Bible, reading, writing, math, social studies, science, PE, STEM, art, music, and more. Developing Christian values is integrated through classroom to all of campus life.
