(VASH - Kauai) Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs.

(Aloha Diaper Pantry) The Aloha Diaper Bank supports newborns up to 3 years old who are facing poverty or family crises due to job loss or personal circumstances. Working in collaboration with various local agencies that serve low-income, homeless, and families in crisis, we provide essential diapers and wipes. Families are encouraged to register with one of the partner agencies to receive ongoing support and access other valuable services during challenging times. Additionally, the Aloha Diaper Bank offers a one-time emergency assistance package, including 75 diapers and 2 packs of baby wipes, to address immediate needs. The Aloha Diaper Bank Maui Pantry and the Aloha Diaper Bank Kauai Pantry works with partner agencies to distribute diapers to families in need. Conducts awareness campaigns and encourages organ donation. Sponsors volunteer constituent councils for organ donors and transplant patients, including the TransAction Council, the Hawaii Organ Donor Family Council and the Transplant Association of Hawaii. Sponsors the Transplant Games, an Olympic-Style competition for transplant recipients. Supports training opportunities for health care professionals. Educates the public about problems of progressive kidney disease and possible means of prevention. Conducts free patient/family workshops called "People Like Us Live." (CSFP, Senior Food Box) The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a federally funded USDA program that helps eligible older adults access nutritious foods by providing a monthly Senior Food Box filled with a variety of shelf-stable USDA items designed to supplement their diets.

Boxing classes for keiki, teens and adults of all levels.

Provides services for children and young adults from birth to 21 years of age. Services include: well child visits, acute managment of episodic illnesses and comprehensive management of special problems and chronic illnesses.

Provides information on the State of Hawai’i COVID-19 Vaccine Program such as Frequently Asked Questions and how to register for the COVID-19 vaccine. Provides an In-Home COVID-19 Vaccines service for those aged 12+ who are still unvaccinated. The In-Home COVID-19 Vaccines mobile service will make getting vaccinated against COVID-19 as easy as possible. (Food Pantry) Dynamic Compassion in Action distributes food boxes to persons in need and persons with low-income. Clothing and household goods are distributed at the same site and during same food pantry hours. Volunteers are accepted, but please call first. We accept donations of clean and gently used small household items and clothing. The food distribution is normally a drive through. For persons who walk in please bring a bag, box or wagon. This is an Ohana Produce Plus Distribution and Senior Food Box Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a one a month, federal program helping low-income kupuna.

The Community Teen Program provides Out-of-school Time services (OST) for youth ages 5-18 who live in and around the public housing complex Kuhio Park Terrace in Kalihi. This programs promote the development of healthy youth with an abundance of positive experiences for youth including educational, recreational, skill building, social emotional learning, community building and support services. Opens at 1:30pm on Wednesdays during the school year. Extended hours offered during summer and school intersessions. Intake form is good for 1 year.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities and crafts, excursions and swimming. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

(Hale Hoomalu) Provides services to individuals who are experiencing domestic violence or threatened with same. Offers assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO) and complying with related court appearances. Provides court advocacy and support. Offers protective services for families with abused or neglected children through the TRO process (if applicable). Provides psycho-educational groups (both court ordered and voluntary) to men who batter. Provides on-going support groups for victims of domestic violence.

(Food Pantry) Aiea Seventh Day Adventist Church provides food boxes for families in need as well as clean used clothing as needed. We provide grooming supplies as well.

Provides educational programs and resource materials in leadership development, volunteer management, public policy education and how to train others. Statewide network of volunteers. Staffed through local Cooperative Extension Services offices.

Provides special education services based on individual need and as agreed upon in the student Individualized Educational Program (IEP).

(Domestic Abuse Shelter) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for abused partners and their children. It is a time-out period for abused partners to learn about the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse and how to develop a "safety plan". It is also a time for learning about and making choices; discovering that they are not at fault for the abuse; building self-esteem and learning self-empowerment. The Domestic Abuse Shelters help families and children escape from domestic violence and establish independent lives. The Shelter offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. Provides health care coordination to target populations. Participates with communities to problem-solve health issues. Provides health education in adult and child health, chronic diseases, communicable disease and prevention. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. Provides health services in public schools, consultation services to private schools, day care, and residential care homes.

(HDB) Provides diapers, wipes, and other basic essentials for low-income families of young children birth to 5 years old.

Makaha Community Center is partnering with Waianae Assembly of God for the distribution of food, clothing, furniture, appliances, and household items. We also support local Department of Education school incentive programs in the Nanakuli-Waianae complex to help promote academics and attendance.

Family Hui Hawaii coordinates and provides peer-led parenting support groups for families with young children, age prenatal-5 years old. Families are matched with a group leader in their community based on their child's age and neighborhood. Once a group is formed, families take part in 12 weekly parenting and child development discussions. Group members are able to connect and share their experiences with other families and often develop life-long friendships. Each family receives our Embracing 'Ohana Notebook as a permanent resource. Family Hui offers child development screenings, provides referrals to other agencies, weekly parenting tips on Facebook and current community resources, and invites families to special events and workshops. You may leave a message anytime. Text or contact via Facebook as well - Family Hui Hawaii Families meet where it is convenient for everyone in the group. It may be a public park or a group member's home. Hui groups may meet virtually and/or physically.
