(Ohana Finding) Family Finding is a process designed to identify, locate and engage family members of children and youth who are in foster care. Family Finding utilizes database case mining and internet searches to identify and locate family and other possible relatives. Individuals who are identified as possible relatives are verified via phone contact and/or letters, and names of confirmed family members are compiled onto maternal and paternal family lists. These lists are then submitted to Child Welfare Services (CWS), the GAL, and the EPIC Ohana Conference coordinator or the Ohana Connections specialist to assist them in engaging relatives to help care for, provide support for, or reconnect to the child in care. (Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

These items are received by the local offices by donations from others and through our TLC Catalog. This unique offering encourages campers to learn about the ocean and Maui’s natural environment while developing useful skills and making new friends. Each session centers around a specific ocean-related theme and includes hands-on science lessons, team-building games, expressive crafts and daily field trips with local partners, including weekly 3-hour private snorkel trips on PacWhale Eco-Adventures vessels. (DV Services for Families, DVSF) The Survivor and Children Support Services, (SCSS), focuses on supporting personal healing with families involved in both child welfare and domestic violence. SCSS provides an array of services to help families understand the difference between unhealthy and healthy family dynamics, strengthen parenting skills to include, learning how to better empathize with children's emotions, and become empowered by the use of community referrals. The SCSS Program's goal is to ensure and promote survivor safety and independence, and to strengthen child resilience.

Provides education in women and child health, chronic diseases, etc. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. (SFHV, Strong Families Home Visits) This program provides comprehensive and culturally appropriate professional and paraprofessional home visitation services to families with children ages birth to 3 years old. Program participants are referred by Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management, or Family Strengthening Services programs. Service interventions reduce child abuse and neglect risks, increase family self-sufficiency, address family stressors, and improve child adjustment and achievement. Domestic Violence Services for Families offers a full spectrum of individual, group and family services to men, women and children to aid in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence in families and to strengthen child resilience and overall wellbeing. Service that are available include: -A Comprehensive Basic Assessment including a Trauma Assessment as needed -Risk Assessment -Crisis Management -Safety Planning -Development of a Comprehensive Service Plan -Individual, group and/or family counseling and support for each referred family member -Supervised visitation/exchanges and/or therapeutic visitation -Support Services and outreach which may include but are not limited to case management, resource linkages, domestic violence advocacy, temporary restraining order support, and in-home visits to educated about parenting and life skills

(SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Food Basket Hawaii Island's Food Bank’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications.

Bus Passes and Handi-Van Coupons - availability is limited to those in active treatment. Taxicab - limited trips for those that are unable to access volunteers, bus or handi-van. Air Fare interisland and mainland - for patients not covered by other insurance coverage. Reduced rate lodging - at hotels in Hawaii for patients who must travel for treatment. Hope lodge - free overnight housing for patients traveling to the mainland for treatment.

Assists in the location and recovery of missing children. Connected to 49 mainland state clearinghouses as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Traces children and their abductors through connection with these databases and other public records as well as coordination with the efforts of the FBI and police departments of all states. Child Protective Services, Interpol, the U.S. Department of State and countries who are signatories to the Hague Convention. The police should always be notified first in the event that a parent suspects a child has been abducted.
