The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (Hoa 'Aina O Makaha) Hoa Aina O Makaha provides programs based on Hawaiian cultural values and traditions. The focus is on strengthening family sustainability through activities that encourages family participation. Hoa Aina O Makaha is a resource to the schools by providing interactive hands-on activities that broadens understanding of subject matter and enhances classroom lesson plans; activities include gardening projects and animal care. Small scale agricultural farming produces herbs and other produce.

KAMP (Kids At-Risk Mentoring Program) Hawaii focuses on disadvantaged, special needs and at-risk youth in our communities. Program reaches cooperation, communication, decision making, leadership and teamwork skills through hands on activities.

KHP is a non-profit substance misuse treatment and recovery support Center with a focus on Native Hawaiian cultural values. Provides Outpatient treatment and support services for Molokai residents in early recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions. Also provides 12-step meetings and faith-based recovery support meetings. Provides urine analysis (UA) Testing for youth up to age 18 and adults. Able to provide alcohol and other drugs (AOD) assessments for driving under the influence (DUI) or treatment appropriateness for a fee. KHP has programs for Pregnant and/or parenting Women with children who want to engage in outpatient treatment. Also, persons with a co-occurring mental health diagnosis and a substance use disorder can join dual diagnosis treatment groups. KHP has an emergency food pantry open on Tue and Thurs after 12:30pm. (ELR) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) for Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers is a research-based community program that gives young children (not in facility-based childcare), high-quality physical, emotional and cognitive experiences. It also equips their teacher, ensuring they start kindergarten ready to learn. The program provides a stimulating, preschool-like experience through learning centers that foster young child development and improve school readiness, while also supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of caregivers. Early Learning Readiness - services are provided at the Aliamanu Military Reservations for the Pearl Harbor and Wheeler Schoefield locations.

Operates 14 bed facility (10 long term and 4 acute care). Provides Lanai with 24-hour emergency room service, radiology and laboratory facilities. Emergency room also includes obstetrics.

Provides case management for youth in long term foster care, guardianship, transition, post high school education and post adoption. Provides mental health assessments and parent-child interactive therapy. Provides financial assistance for educational and self-esteem building activities for children in foster care. Provides training, support, resources and referrals to foster, adopt, kinship and guardianship parents. Hosts a Holiday Party for children in foster care and their families.

Helping Hands Hawaii's Community Clearinghouse operates a warehouse providing free essential items to persons and families with low-income, people experiencing houselessness, and disaster survivors. Available items may include furniture, basic household goods, hygiene items, food, and clothing. (Family Peace Center - Maui) Maui Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction, emphasizing partnership, equality, and respect among families. Support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals and legal system advocacy. Support for offenders includes violence intervention groups. Adolescent services provided free of charge for those in need of effective problem solving skills to manage anger and/or those exhibiting violent behavior and anger control issues; anyone can refer themselves or a family member. Community education and training for schools, community groups, and agencies available.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities and crafts, excursions and swimming. Operation Hero is an afterschool program that targets military children who have been identified by teachers, counselors, or parents as exhibiting low self-esteem, or who have difficulty adjusting, both academically and sociall t the school environment. Oftentimes, these difficulties can be attributed to frequent moves and family disruption due to deployments. The curriculum is designed to help children cope with the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and assist them in developing a positive self-image while improving communication skills. This program promotes social responsibility through team-building activities and targets children.

(YWCA of Kauai Sexual Assault Treatment Program) Offers confidential crisis intervention counseling and support services for rape victims. Will accompany victims to hospital for examination, or to police for reporting, and to court if prosecution takes place. Provides speakers to schools and organizations, public education on sexual assault and harassment. Offers counseling and support services for children who have been sexually abused or molested by non-family members. Provides confidential group and individual counseling for adults molested as children.
