Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (Community-Based Mentoring Program) Case Managers at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii work with parents, guardians, therapists, counselors, schools, and youth serving organizations to identify and pair under-resourced youth from ages 6 years old and older with one-on-one mentors. Case Managers create an outcome development plan in collaboration with the parent/guardian, child and volunteer. Plans are updated yearly. Youth and their mentors meet 2-3 times per month for a few hours each outing. Outings are selected by the youth. Mentors pick-up their mentees and are responsible for transportation and other costs they incur. Some of the costs are offset by sponsored activities and discounts at partnering companies.

Works with children of West Hawaii who have been traumatized by sexual assault, physical abuse or neglect, or who are witnesses to violent crime. Goal is to "help a victim become a child again."

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (CMA) Crystal Meth Anonymous (CMA) is a Twelve Step organization focused on getting and staying clean from addiction to crystal meth. Anyone with a desire to stop using is welcome. (Nanas House Family Centers - Waimea, Neighborhood Places of Kauai) In partnership with a community Ohana Board and other community agencies, provides family support and family preservation services to the families in defined areas of Kauai. Incorporating a community family center model, we provide a healing and nurturing environment in which intervention services are interwoven with prevention activities. Services include information and referral, emergency food pantry, emergency clothes closet, parent skills classes, youth development programs, individual support for expecting and new parents, assistance with food stamp applications, job information services, outreach activities to engage hard to reach families, individual and family counseling, tobacco treatment and community activities and cultural awareness activities.

Paepae o Heeia cares for, manages, and maintains the 800 year old, 88 acre Heeia Fishpond. Programs include educational programming, 1 hour tours, fishpond restoration, aquaculture activities and volunteer opportunities.
