(SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management service to improve housing stability by providing supportive services to eligible Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Supportive Services include housing search assistance, landlord mediation, and temporary financial assistance. SSVF also provides information and referrals to assist participants with obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits, which may include health care services, personal financial planning services, and legal services.

(SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Hawaii Foodbank Kauai’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications.

(Hiilei Developmental Screening Program) -Hi'ilei Development Screening Program - a free resource for children birth to 5 years old. The Hi`ilei program provides developmental screens and information for families. -Development - children grow and develop throughout their life. Early skills include smiling for the first time, waving “bye bye”, and taking a first step. As they grow, children develop more skills as they play, learn, speak, socialize, and move. -Developmental Screening - a developmental screen is a simple set of questions about what a child can do. It helps families find out if their child is developing like other children of similar age.

Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana and Kentucky's Kahului Health Center offers in-person and telehealth care for abortion, birth control, vasectomy, emergency contraception, gender-affirming services, HIV testing, pregnancy testing, prenatal and postpartum services, STD testing and treatment, pap smears, vaccines, screening and treatment of minor gynecological problems like UTIs, wellness and preventive care, substance use support and referrals, unhealthy relationship support and referrals, and education and counseling.

Army Community Service's New Parent Support program is a professional team of nurses and social workers who provide free non clinical parenting support and education to army families who are expecting or have at least one child birth - 3 years of age. Services include home visiting, office visits, play groups, referrals, resources and classes/events.

(MEM) Making Ends Meet provides emergency financial assistance for individuals who experienced an unexpected life event that resulted in a financial setback. Assistance for essential needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, etc. up to about $500. No general financial assistance. No long-term financial support available. Assistance is a one time, not ongoing assistance. All services are conducted electronically or via USPS

(CPS) The Child Welfare Services Section operates a 24-hour child abuse and neglect reporting line. Child Protective Services (CPS) receives all reports of child abuse or neglect, provides case consultation and assessment, and provides crisis intervention on behalf of children in need of immediate protection via police.

(RYSE) RYSE offers a 24 hour access center for homeless youth ages 14-24 to have a safe place to sleep, assistance with resources for education and employment opportunities, street outreach, basic need services such as a hot shower, clothing, and a hot meal.

Assisting in helping those interested in running a child care business to becoming licensed by the State of Hawaii. Providing guidance regarding setting up a child care business. Providing free training on child development, nutrition, health and safety issues. Providing information about resources available to providers, such as the USDA Child Care Food Program that assists in paying for meals served in daycare. Referring parents who are looking for child care to licensed child care providers. Maintaining connections with child care providers, professional child care associations, and other child care professionals as well as helping others build those relationships in the community. The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai. Parent Participation Preschool is a three-phased program for parents to assist in their child's transition from home to school. Each phase requires a different amount of participation. The children progress through the program based on their development and mastered skills not age. -Pueo (Phase 1): Children begin a foundational program where they are introduced to a more structured learning environment. The programs main focuses are colors, shapes, letter recognition, and more. The class meets twice a week for 2 hours. This class requires 100% parents participation. -Honu (Phase 2): Children entering Honu possess some basic, fundamental preschool abilities and are inspired to work independently, explore academics, use their creativity, and learn the importance of a daily routine. Honu focuses on phonic, basic math skills and writing. The class meets twice a week for 3 hours. Promotes water enrichment and aquatic readiness activities for children and their parents. Skills are developed around five main components: personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water sports/game, and rescue.

Transitional shelter provides Housing First Case Management and focuses on connecting clients to mainstream resources, increasing income, life and tenancy skills, and reaching the ultimate goal of Permanent Housing.

Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (CSFP) The CSFP works to improve the health of low income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Participants must complete an application, be at least 60 years of age, reside on Oahu and have an income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Once qualified, senior will receive a monthly food box consisting of UHT milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter or beans, cheese, canned meat/poultry or fish and canned fruits and vegetables. Provides water safety (beach lifeguard) services at beach parks on Oahu. Conducts water safety presentations and lectures upon request to community groups, school groups and others (military, agencies, etc.). Provides information on jellyfish and beach closures. (Child Care Connection Hawaii, Arbor, CCCH) Child Care Subsidy (CCS) program helps low-income families to sustain their employment, educational efforts and job training by paying a subsidy for their children who are in the care of Department of Human Services (DHS)-approved child care providers. Unless child care is required for protective purposes, families must meet income and activity requirements to qualify for this subsidy program.

Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Food Pantry) Aiea Seventh Day Adventist Church provides food boxes for families in need as well as clean used clothing as needed. We provide grooming supplies as well.
