Serves current and former foster youth in Hawai‘i who are transitioning out of the foster care system, into adulthood. The program provides a group process for youth to celebrate their emancipation from foster care and to assist them in planning for their independence. (CSFP) The CSFP works to improve the health of low income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Participants must complete an application, be at least 60 years of age, reside on Oahu and have an income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Once qualified, senior will receive a monthly food box consisting of UHT milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter or beans, cheese, canned meat/poultry or fish and canned fruits and vegetables. (Malama Aina Foundation) This program provides students and their facilitators from Native Hawaiian communities with hands-on learning activities combined with the experience of Hawaiian cultural values and practices, to achieve academic success in math and science. Activities include: 1. In-school science and math support for middle school students and teachers through curriculum training and supplement, tutoring, teaching, and mentoring; 2. After school hands-on STEM and Hawaiian cultural experiences, increasing student knowledge of STEM content as aligned to the common core math and next generation science standards; and 3. During intersession and summer breaks, expose students to STEM by integrating math and science with Hawaiian cultural practices.

Serves environmentally at-risk families. Participants include prenatal women and families with children birth to three years old. The infants and children are considered at-risk for child abuse and neglect and developmental delays. The program provides comprehensive home visitation, child development screening and intervention, as well as psychosocial assessment, and motivational readiness for treatment and brief counseling. The intensity of the program varies over the course of service, starting with weekly home visits, and reducing the frequency as the family and child meet their goals.

We welcome bereaved children and teens (3 years old - 18 years old) for free peer support groups (not therapy). Keiki and teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, ohana member, or close friend are eligible. Grief support services provided include peer-to-peer support groups in the schools and the community, children's bereavement awareness education, group facilitation training, and care package program. (St Francis Hospice) Nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, St. Francis Hospice, the state’s first hospice program, provides compassionate care and comfort for terminally ill patients in their homes, in nursing homes, and at our inpatient facility in Nuuanu. We make each moment count, enhancing the quality of life for patients, and their families and friends. St. Francis Hospice also has one of the most advanced bereavement services programs, offering support groups, walks in shopping malls, and other activities for families who have lost a loved one. St. Francis Hospice provides a specially trained, interdisciplinary healthcare team that may include a medical director, nurse, social worker, chaplain, hospice aide, volunteer, and bereavement counselor. The St. Francis Hospice care team focuses on each individual patient’s needs to ensure comfort and the best quality of life for our patients and their families.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities and crafts, excursions and swimming. Reopening September 1, 2022, the Honolulu Museum of Art School offers courses in ceramics, printmaking, metalsmithing, textiles, drawing and painting, and a General Survey Art Exploration class. Curriculum is designed for a wide range of abilities, experiences, and expertise. Fall 2022 registration opens online and in-person on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 10am. Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

(Youth Employment and Success Hawaii) YES Hawaii serves youth ages 14-26. The program provides peer support and outreach services. The Program is youth driven and designed to engage foster youth in peer mentoring and meaningful and supportive events and activities. Services include outreach and support, peer mentoring, events and activities, leadership and skill-building, and social media and other electronic communication training.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Parent Participation Preschool is a three-phased program for parents to assist in their child's transition from home to school. Each phase requires a different amount of participation. The children progress through the program based on their development and mastered skills not age. -Pueo (Phase 1): Children begin a foundational program where they are introduced to a more structured learning environment. The programs main focuses are colors, shapes, letter recognition, and more. The class meets twice a week for 2 hours. This class requires 100% parents participation. -Honu (Phase 2): Children entering Honu possess some basic, fundamental preschool abilities and are inspired to work independently, explore academics, use their creativity, and learn the importance of a daily routine. (Friends of the Childrens Justice Center - Maui) Provides a safe, neutral place for child abuse investigations by trained Police Detectives and Department of Human Services Social Workers who are specialists in child abuse. Provides training for professionals in conducting effective multidisciplinary investigations that are child-focused. Tracks all reports of child sex abuse. Facilitates coordination of civil and criminal multidisciplinary meetings.

Ho'ola Na Pua's Starfish Mentoring Program (SMP) provides mentoring with trauma-informed care and support that addresses the unique needs of survivors of sex trafficking and those at risk. Weekly meetings are activity-based and led by extensively trained mentors aged twenty-one or older. Mentors offer support and advocacy while serving as positive role models to program participants. Referrals to the program can be made through service providers, law enforcement or family members by calling or texting 808.222.1872. The Starfish Mentoring program does not adhere to strict hours of operation and can be available after hours as well. Program service are community based, so they happen through the island of O'ahu.
