KAMP (Kids At-Risk Mentoring Program) Hawaii focuses on disadvantaged, special needs and at-risk youth in our communities. Program reaches cooperation, communication, decision making, leadership and teamwork skills through hands on activities.

(Food Pantry Plus) This program provides emergency food and diaper assistance for the community. Hours of operation are subject to change without notice. Please call to confirm operation hours. Parents are required to bring a picture ID and each child's birth certificate (one time verification). Families are allowed to receive diapers once a month, per child, ages from infant to 3 years old. Please call to confirm operation hours and the availability of diapers.

(Hoa 'Aina O Makaha) Hoa Aina O Makaha provides programs based on Hawaiian cultural values and traditions. The focus is on strengthening family sustainability through activities that encourages family participation. Hoa Aina O Makaha is a resource to the schools by providing interactive hands-on activities that broadens understanding of subject matter and enhances classroom lesson plans; activities include gardening projects and animal care. Small scale agricultural farming produces herbs and other produce.

(Strong Families Home Visiting Oahu) This program provides comprehensive and culturally appropriate professional and paraprofessional home visitation services to families with children ages birth to 3 years old. Program participants are referred by Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management, or Family Strengthening Services programs. Service interventions reduce child abuse and neglect risks, increase family self-sufficiency, address family stressors, and improve child adjustment and achievement. Provides comprehensive home visitation, child development screening and intervention, as well as psychosocial assessment, and motivational treatment readiness services to Child Welfare Services (CWS) and CWS Diversion clients. The intensity of the program varies over the course of service, starting with weekly home visits, and reducing the frequency as the family and child meet their goals. Services include a a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and Registered Nurse.

(Orchestral Music Education for Youth, HYSA) The Hawaii Youth Symphony advances critical and positive links between music study, academic achievement, and social emotional development with programs that service youth through orchestral music education, performance opportunities, and community engagement. HYS envisions a Hawaii where every young person can experience the timeless value of music, learn to play a musical instrument, or otherwise embrace a lifelong appreciation for musical learning. During the academic year, HYS operates three full-symphonic orchestras and four string orchestras, instructing students who range in ability from absolute beginners to very experienced. Education and performance are key elements of the HYS curriculum. During the summer months, HYS conducts two outreach programs: Summer Strings geared toward elementary school children; and the Pacific Music Institute (PMI), a music immersion program for middle and high school students from all islands of Hawaii, the mainland and the Asia/Pacific region. New Hope Kapolei provides an emergency food pantry. Please call for an appointment for emergency food pick up on 1st, 2nd, and 4th Thursday of the month. Pick up times are 10:30 am - 12:30 pm the weeks the food pantry is not open on Saturday. Supplies are limited and appointments are required.

LDAH provides mentoring, technical assistance and training to parents/families of children with disabilities or suspected disabilities in special education.

Family Hui Hawaii coordinates and provides peer-led parenting support groups for families with young children, age prenatal-5 years old. Families are matched with a group leader in their community based on their child's age and neighborhood. Once a group is formed, families take part in 12 weekly parenting and child development discussions. Group members are able to connect and share their experiences with other families and often develop life-long friendships. Each family receives our Embracing 'Ohana Notebook as a permanent resource. Family Hui offers child development screenings, provides referrals to other agencies, weekly parenting tips on Facebook and current community resources, and invites families to special events and workshops. You may leave a message anytime. Text or contact via Facebook as well - Family Hui Hawaii Families meet where it is convenient for everyone in the group. It may be a public park or a group member's home. Hui groups may meet virtually and/or physically.

Bus Passes and Handi-Van Coupons - availability is limited to those in active treatment. Taxicab - limited trips for those that are unable to access volunteers, bus or handi-van. Air Fare interisland and mainland - for patients not covered by other insurance coverage. Reduced rate lodging - at hotels in Hawaii for patients who must travel for treatment. Hope lodge - free overnight housing for patients traveling to the mainland for treatment.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, basketball, volleyball and tennis courts and two fields. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. The Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) continues to closely monitor the federal government shutdown and its potential impact on programs that provide essential food assistance to Hawaii families. If the federal shutdown continues into November, federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program may be unavailable, which could delay or prevent the issuance of November benefits. City and County of Honolulu youth can use the Youth HOLO card to pay for rides on TheBus, and in the future the HandiVan, and the rail system on June 30, 2023. Go to the website for frequently asked questions (FAQ), register your card so you can protect it from loss or theft and transfer fees, sign up for the auto-reload program, check your balance for up to six family members and manage their cards and balances. Fares are capped and your money goes toward a pass. Once you spend the amount of a pass, you ride the rest of the day or month for free. Youth fares are $3.75. Transfers are free within 2.5 hours of riding the vehicle.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.
