Provides confidential crisis intervention, legal system advocacy/ support, counseling, and medical services for sexual assault victims. Victims choose whether to report to police. Staff will be present at police interview if desired. Prevention education to schools and community also available. Also provides counseling services to anyone who has been sexually assaulted at anytime.

Dreams help remind children in crisis that they are special and loved. Dream Imua, formerly A Keiki’s Dream, grants child-directed dreams to children 4-16 years old in crisis of any nature, such as abuse, neglect, homelessness or a major medical issues. This child-directed approach not only offers a reprieve from suffering, but validates the child’s self-worth, sending positive messages of support and encouragement, reminding the child what it is to have hope. This important program began in 1990 and became part of Imua Family Services in 2015. Over the last 30 years, the program has filled nearly 1,500 dreams from turning little girls into princesses and little boys into superheroes. The program offers children a chance to escape their difficult lives through helicopter rides, zip-lining, music lessons, horseback riding and more. Dream Imua relies on community support and involvement to help make these dreams a reality for those in need.

(Mana'olana Emergency Homeless Shelter) Provides emergency shelter for homeless individuals and families. Offers case management to help link residents to resources in the community to help stabilize them and begin to rebuild their lives. Mana’olana Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing is located adjacent the KEO office at 2808 Wehe Road, Lihue HI 96766. Also offers dinner meals, showers, sleeping and laundry facilities.

School-based programs are during or after-school and conducted in collaboration with school counselors. Programs offer therapeutic peer support groups that follow the Hawaii Department of Education (HDOE) public school calendar. Kids Hurt Too Hawaii (KHTH) is expanding school-based groups upon request from schools. Requirements include a dedicated therapeutic space for conducting groups at the school. KHTH provides the supplies and set-up as well as trains volunteers to assist if allowed with professional staff available at every group. Currently at Paia and Nanakuli. The program is expanding to other schools upon request. Currently helping elementary school aged children.

(Food Pantry) Living Waters Assembly of God provides food for those in need.

Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church provides a food sack to participants who are in need of food, 1 bag per adult. Emergency requests are answered as soon as we find out about it, or when the person is referred to us by social agency as well as our own congregation each Sunday. Beach dwellers and families in multiple family situations are helped with food as soon as we are notified. We also provide used clothing, sheets, blankets, and towels when these items are available.

(Domestic Violence Services for Families) When child abuse occurs in the home, violent behavior towards spouses and others is also often present. After a family is required to enter the child welfare system and is discovered to be experiencing other forms of domestic violence a care plan is developed for each family member. Services are then provided for both survivors (victims) and batterers (perpetrators) of violent behavior. Survivors create a safety plan and are offered various supportive services. Batterers are assessed and provided opportunities to learn alternative attitudes and behaviors. This program works with families involved in the child welfare system who are also experiencing domestic violence. Staff work with each family to assess for domestic violence and/or risk factors related to domestic violence. A care plan is developed for each family member. The services that are available for each family include: Domestic Violence Survivor Support and Pattern Changing Groups for Victims, Individual Counseling and Support for each family member, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focusing on children, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Children’s Support Groups, and/or Adolescent Support Groups.

The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has made the elimination of homelessness among veterans a top priority. Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Youth Technology Education) We offer several programs through the year for kids to learn about new technologies through a place-based lens.

(Recreational Soccer League, Soccer) American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) is a Youth Soccer Organization servicing the Kaneohe area to include areas up through Kaaawa. There is a very important program (VIP) for the physically challenged. The Program runs all year round with our main season during the fall of each year. Provides basic concepts of soccer to the youth of Kaneohe with the intent for the youth to participate at higher levels as they become available. Clinics are provided to adults to obtain the basics for coaching and refereeing. AYSO is entirely made up of volunteers.
